Vegetable Growing 2017

In an Earlier Post we discussed the repair of the raised beds and the initial planting of vegetable seeds. We have had our first crop of Potatoes and Cabbage, very nice and the kids even ate some of the cabbage.

The greenhouse produced great plants that went out into the raised beds, Beetroot, Cabbage, Little Gen Lettuce, Pumpkins, Spinach and Runner Beans. Some veg was planted directly into the soil, Onions and Potatoes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Currently we have 4 Cucumber plants and 4 Sweet Pepper plants growing in the Greenhouse.

A new raised bed has been built out of 8ft long 3″ pressure treated timber, its half full of lettuce at the moment. More lettuce has been planted in the greenhouse to be planted out in the next few weeks.

Runner beans grew really well last year, we kept some of the beans to use as seeds and grew them on this year. there is a patch of Bamboo growing in our garden which makes great canes for the Beans.
